Mark Manchester Spink passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016. Mark was born in Rhode Island on July 21, 1926 to the late Hilda and Mark Spink. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, and followed that service with a long career at United Technologies Corporation (UTC) in Connecticut. Mark’s time in the military and at UTC gave him a love for all kinds of machines, especially airplanes. In his personal life, he was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Kernersville, serving as a deacon, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving family members of Mark include his wife of 9 years, Elsie McCarter Spink; daughters Jane (and husband Richard Millard) and Gail Spink; grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Mark and Marissa Millard. Mark was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Ruth Leach Spink in 2000. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 4:00PM EST, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel (213 W Mountain St, Kernersville, NC 27284).
