Marlene Ann Perano
October 5th, 1932 - February 14th, 2017
Marlene Ann Perano, of Jackson, CA, passed away at the age of 84, at her home on February 14, 2017. Marlene was born in Sacramento, CA on October 5, 1932, to Elva Lorraine (Pope) and Wilbur Benjamin Gardner. She moved to Jackson in 1947, graduated from Jackson High School in 1951, married Ernest Perano in 1953, enjoyed raising her sons on the family ranch, and enriched the lives of many children during her years as a librarian for Jackson Elementary School. Marlene is survived by her son, Kenneth (Susan) Perano; daughter-in-law, Ruth Perano; sister, Gail Kerr; sister-in-law, Josephine Vasilovich; grandchildren, Timothy (Julianne), Kristen, Daniel (Faith), and Devin; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Annalise, and Elizabeth; niece, Carla Backovich; and nephew, Gary Kerr. Marlene also leaves behind her friends, Carolyn Brown and Betty MacDonald, and thanks them for their loving care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Perano in 1997; and son, Dean Perano in 2006. Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 8:30 - 10:30 AM at Daneri Mortuary, 415 Broadway, Jackson, CA, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Jackson Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, CA. Friends are also invited to attend a celebration of life following the graveside service, at 12:30 PM at Cornerstone Church, 116 South Church St., Ione, CA. Contributions may be made in Marlene's name to World Venture (with the memo - LaSavio), care of Cornerstone Church, P.O. Box 304, Ione, CA 95640.
