Martha Mai Graves Bullock, age 83,passed away peacefully and without fear on Feb. 29, 2012 at Emeritus at Green Mountain in Lakewood, CO. She was a former longtime resident of both Scottsbluff, NE and Highlands Ranch, CO. She has been cremated and her memorial services will be held Sat., March 10, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael†™s and All Angels Episcopal Church at 1400 S. University Blvd., Denver, CO. A reception will follow at the church parlor. Martha was born on Aug. 4, 1928 at Nashville, TN, the fifth child of seven to Andrew Campbell and Emma Lou (Ashworth) Graves. After completing high school in 1946, she traveled by train to Denver, CO where she became employed at the State Capital for the State of Colorado. She met her husband-to-be, Cecil M. Bullock, Jr. in Oct., 1948 where he was a student at Denver University. They married in Denver on June 11, 1949. Following his college graduation in 1950, they moved to Scottsbluff, NE where he worked at the family business, Bullock Insurance. Following his retirement, they moved to Highlands Ranch, CO in 1991. Following his death in 2003, Martha moved to Emeritus Green Mountain in Lakewood, CO She was a member of St. Andrew†™s Episcopal Church (now known as St. Francis) where she served on the altar guild for many years. She was currently a member of St. Michael†™s And All Angels Episcopal Church in Denver, CO. Martha enjoyed collecting antiques, dancing the jitterbug, playing tennis and bridge, watching †œJudge Judy†�, †œCash Cab†� and all Nebraska and NFL games on television. But most of all she loved being with and hearing about her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She is survived by her daughter Jennie Lou (Peter) Grondorf of Highlands Ranch, son John Campbell Bullock of Scottsbluff, NE, grandson Samuel Peter Grondorf (partner Brandie Rome) of Denver, and granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Grondorf (fiance†™ Terry Fisher) of Golden, CO. She is also survived by brother Paul (Betty) Graves of Paducah, KY, and sister Emma Jean (Berle) Wilson of Hendersonville, TN, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister. Arrangements are being handled by Aspen Mortuaries, Lakewood CO. Phone number is 303-232-0985.
