Martha Jo Rhoton

Martha Jo Rhoton, 58, of Kingsport passed away on Thursday (October 27, 2016) following a brief illness. She had lived the majority of her life in the Fairview / Clinchport community. She was a graduate of King College and retired from Mountain Empire Community College after 23 years of service. Martha loved to travel and spend time with her two dogs. She was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.J. and Nell Rhoton. Martha Jo Rhoton is survived by her special cousins, Mary Street and Susan Egan; devoted companions, Donna and Allen McClellan along with several aunts, cousins, and many friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday (October 31, 2016) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday (October 31, 2016) at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Brown, officiating. Music will be provided by Stacey Potter, Buddy and Glenda Wilson. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Holston View Cemetery with Allen McClellan, Adam McClellan, Shane Ward, Preston Layne, John Hay, and Tim Bartley. The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses on the 4th floor west of Bristol Regional Medical Center for the special care given to Martha.
