Marty Ryan Eaton, 56, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He loved life and was a joy to be around. Marty especially enjoyed watching his birds. He was a loving son, companion, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Marty was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Eaton; papaw, R.J. Woods; great-niece, Blakeli; special uncles, Roger and Rick Woods; special pet Rebel. Survivors include the love of his life, Donna Blevins; parents, Ed and Joyce McLain; mamaw, Thelma Woods; niece, Bambi Smith; special pet, Sam; special friends, John Barnette and Jeff Frady; along with a host of extended family and friends. A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Hermon UMC Cemetery on East Carter’s Valley Rd with Bro. Ed McLain officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm. Carter-Trent /Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Eaton/McLain Family.
