Marty Dean Krause

Marty Dean Krause, 59, of Denver, formerly of Windsor, passed away at his home on March 24, 2019. He was born May 12, 1959 in Ogden, UT to Larry and Darlene (Kerbel) Kraus. Marty worked for Kodak from 1979-2003 and then relocated to Denver where he enjoyed the big city and all it had to offer. He loved gardening, especially flowers, and was a three-time Grand Champion winner at the Weld County Fair where he participated from 1987-2003. His favorites were dinner plate dahlias and stargazer lilies. Marty was an avid runner, participating in marathons, attending Elton John concerts (attending his last concert in February 2019), watching the Denver Broncos and decorating his home for the seasons, especially lighting up his house at Christmas. He also loved watching the Golden Girls and Star Trek. His fondest memory was getting the chance to see William Shatner at an event in Denver. Marty was a faithful member and supporter of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor. He was not only a member, but also a server of the church; he wore many hats during his time there. Some of the positions held were a Deacon, Usher, Sunday school teacher and helped with cleaning. Survivors include his daughters; Jamie (Chris) Miller of Windsor and Casey (Kevin) Sturch of Eaton, grandchildren; Trystan & Jordynne Miller, Micheala Purdy, Myles Baker, Conner and Bailey Sturch, sister; Shauna Stewart and brother, Kelly Kraus as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Monty. Life Celebration Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Faith UCC, Windsor with a luncheon to follow.
