Marvin Roy Archuleta

Marvin Roy Archuleta Sr. age 84 was born and made his life in Cerro, NM. He passed away at his home in Albuquerque NM surrounded by his family and friends on August 5, 2018. Marvin was born on November 4, 1933 in Cerro NM. He served in the United Sates Army during the Korean War before settling in Cerro NM and worked for Molycorp for 20 years. He attended the Federal MSHA Academy in West Virginia where he studied mine, health and safety administration. He traveled with his job and lived in Carlsbad NM as a Federal Safety Inspector until he retired.   During his lifetime Marvin met some amazing people, either through work or after he retired. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife Betty of 59 years and had many family vacations. Preceded in death by his daughter Patsy Ortega, his granddaughter Jennifer Ortega, his brothers Claudio, Roger, Clarence and Robert Archuleta and his sister's Ruth Archuleta and Fidela Quintana, he also had five half brothers and sisters, Meliton, Alfredo, Pina, Soleme and Edemia. Marvin is survived by his wife Betty Archuleta, their children Julie Gonzales, Christine and her husband Ruben Duran, Marvin Jr. and his wife Juli Archuleta and his son in-law Mark Ortega. He is also survived by his sister Fabby (Nick) Salazar, his 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  A Rosary will be held on August 9, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 6:00 p.m. in Cerro NM. A mass of Christian Burial will be August 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
