Marvin E. Blunck, 87, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home. Born April 7, 1928 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Milo and Ruth Wilson Blunck. Marvin graduated from Gloversville High School class of 1946 and went on to serve our county joining the Army in September of 1950. He worked for Niagara Mohawk as a meter reader and servicemen for over 35 years retiring in 1988. Marvin was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church in Gloversville. He and his wife Lucille spent eight winters in Port St. Lucie, Florida entertaining many friends and enjoyed visiting Cypress Gardens, Disney World, Animal Kingdom and playing a round of golf. Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Lucille Heath Blunck of Gloversville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marvin was predeceased by his brother Richard Blunck who passed away in March of 1976. A graveside service to celebrate Marvin's life will take place in the spring at a time to be announced in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Marvin's memory to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd, Gloversville, NY 12078.
