Mr. Marvin Hindman Brown, Jr. age 91, a resident of Polk City passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Brown was born October 17, 1931 in Athens, Alabama to Marvin Hindman and Sarah Abraham (McMunn) Brown, Sr. He was a Polk County resident of over 80 + years and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1947. Marvin was the owner/operator of Central Florida Sales of Auburndale. He enjoyed gardening, riding his tractor, his chickens, growing peaches and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife – Joanne; son - Marvin III; 2 daughters – Charlotte & Dora and sister – Edna. Marvin is survived by his loving family, 2 sons – Marvin Dell (Karen) Brown of Paducah, IL. and Stephen (Chrystal) Brown of Polk City; 3 daughters – Fran Hawkins of Clayton, GA., Marvenia (Duane) Grimes of Polk City and Sharon Vaniter of Lake Wales; 31 grandchildren, 50 gt grandchildren and 6 gt gt grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16th 11am with a gathering beginning at 10am both at Green Pond Baptist Church, 5995 Green Pond Church Rd. Polk City.
