Marvin P. Nay
March 19th, 1957 - November 12th, 2019
"Indian Orchard-Marvin P. Nay, 62, died unexpectedly on November 12, 2019. Born March 19, 1957 in Manchester, NH, Marvin is the son of George P. and Anetia (Stevens) Nay of Agawam. Marvin grew up in East Longmeadow and moved to Indian Orchard in 1985. From 1976 to 1980, Marvin proudly served his country in the US Army, where he met and married his wife, Sally (Krepel) on July 5, 1979. Marvin was an 18 year member of The Sons of The American Legion in Southwick along with being a member of the American Legion Post 130 in Palmer. He also was an Auxiliary member of Unit 430 in Springfield, as well as an 11 year member of The American Legion Riders 338 in Southwick. As a member of the Sons of American Legion, Marvin served on the National Committee for Veteran employment and education. The Sons of American Legion Detachment Commander for the state of MA. He also was assistant sergeant at arms for Post 130 For over 20 years, Marvin enjoyed time spent riding motorcycles and was a train enthusiast. He currently worked in the maintenance department at the Indian Orchard Mills, where he has been employed for over 20 years. Besides his wife and parents, Marvin will be missed by his two sons, Matthew and his wife Stephanie of Ludlow and Bryan of Indian Orchard. He also leaves a sister, Cheryl Walker of Feeding Hills and four grandchildren, Olivia, Adyan, Nathan and Ethan. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. The American Legion family rituals will begin between 6:15-6:30 p.m. Military honors and committal service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
