Marvin Floyd VanTine

Marvin Floyd VanTine, 90, of Rotonda West passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Born on May 21, 1924 in Buffalo, New York he had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Marvin was a sales representative for a hydraulics and pneumatic company in New York. In 1978 he and his wife Jeanne moved to Florida from Amherst, NY. Twelve years ago they moved to Rotonda West from Cape Coral. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-nine years: Jeanne VanTine of Rotonda West, FL; one daughter: Janeen Seward of Fort Myers, FL; three sons: Scott VanTine of Rotonda West, FL; Keith VanTine of Holland, NY; Craig VanTine of Clarence Center, NY; ten grand children, twelve great grand children and one great great grand daughter. All services will be private. The family respectfully request that there be no phone calls, please. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sun Coast Humane Society or E.A.R.S. in memory of Marvin VanTine. We are two, sailing together under the heavens, over the seas. stretched on the winds. Sunlight warms us, clouds wheel after us. We are like birds, will 'o' wisps. Yes, we are two birds sailing together and when death comes, human and humbled we'll be. When one of us must go, let the other follow, let the flight be ended, the fire blacken, the words fade, let the book close.
