Mrs. Mary J. Agresta, age 95, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Wells Nursing Home Johnstown, where she and her husband have resided the past seven years. She was born August 14, 1916 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Zemanek Riska. She lived in Gloversville for most of her life and was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit. Mary was employed by the Grandoe Glove Corporation. On April 12, 1947 she was married to Benjamin Agresta, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are two children: Robert Agresta Sandra of Old Forge and Carole Gottung Greg of Gloversville; three grandchildren: Marshall Gottung Jessica, Christina Arbogast Kevin and Beth Gottung; three great-grandchildren: Chloe Arbogast, Kaley Arbogast and Mackenzie Gottung; several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by six brothers: Frank Jr; Stephen, John, Anthony, Michael and George Riska. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 22 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be conducted 10:15 a.m. Monday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville. The Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Wells Nursing Home Inc; 201 W. Madison Ave; Johnstown, NY 12095.
