July 10th, 1910 - April 4th, 2005
Mrs. Mary G. Malarkey Ahern, age 94, formerly of Gloversville, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Birchwood Nursing Home in Liverpool, NY. She was born July 10, 1910 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Cavanaugh Malarkey. Mary was educated in Brooklyn and was a homemaker all her life. She was married May 19, 1928 to John Ahern who died in 1980. Survivors include her children, Genevieve Muhlberger of Liverpool, NY; John Ahern of Pocono Summit, PA; and Peter Ahern of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held Saturday, April 9th at 10:15 AM at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown.
