Mary Ann Biancotti

Mary Ann Biancotti, 70, of Summerville, SC (formerly of Kissimmee, FL and Gary, IN) entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 24, 2019. Mary Ann was born on January 28, 1949 in Gary, IN to Roy and Mary Schaeffer. She graduated from Bishop Noll Institute and Indiana University. Following graduation, she pursued a career in nuclear medicine, working in hospitals throughout the Northwest Indiana/Illinois region. After her retirement from medicine, she went on the enjoy a sixteen-year career with Disney World (Orlando, FL) making wonderful friends and memories to last a lifetime. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren for whom she moved all the way to Summerville so she wouldn’t miss a moment of their growing up. Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Richard; daughter, Meredith Rhame (John); step-son, Christopher Biancotti (Salina); granddaughters, Charlotte and Zoey Rhame; nieces, Jennifer Crowell (Jarrod) and Heidi Gray (Brandon); great-nieces and -nephews, Bailey, Peyton, Ezra, Elena and Jakob; and countless dear friends, including her Disney World family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Schaeffer, and her siblings, Nancy Shuman (sister) and Roy Schaeffer, Jr. (brother). The funeral mass will take place at 11:00 am, July 13, 2019, at Nativity Catholic Church (1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC, 29412). Luncheon will follow the service at Smokey Oak Taproom (1234 Camp Road, Charleston, SC, 29412) at approximately 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to Nativity Catholic School (1125 Pittsford Circle, Charleston, SC, 29412) in support of Catholic education. Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville.
