Mary Ann Stech
December 29th, 1945 - July 30th, 2023
Mary Ann Stech (nee Poist) age 77, of Woodbury, New Jersey on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Mary Ann passed peacefully to eternity Sunday morning. She left behind her son, Donald, her daughter-in-law, Karen, and her beloved granddaughter, Chloé. She also is survived by her sister, Betty. Mary Ann is pre-deceased by her parents, Frank and Ann (nee Borucz) Poist. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1963. From there, her life journey led to many different places. Her vocation was nursing. She was an LPN who graduated from Crozer Medical program (Chester, PA) to begin her career that went from there to Vallejo, California, and then back to the Delaware Valley again. She held various nursing positions during her career, but she always said that doing hospice care was the most rewarding. For the second part of her life, she lived with Multiple Sclerosis, Arachnoiditis, and a few other things that she didn’t disclose. Her faith helped get her through many of the trials she dealt with. Mary Ann was a creative soul—she used to make afghan crochet blankets, cross-stich, and in later years became a proficient colorer. She also enjoyed her Doo-Wop music, with some Beach Boys and other vocalists sprinkled in for good measure. She loved animals—especially cats. She loved people. The last decade of her life, she spent it at Woodbury Mews. She was a light and comfort to many of the staff and fellow residents there. Most of all, throughout her life, she enjoyed her time with friends and family. Farewell Tribute Her funeral ceremony will be held Friday, August 11th 1 pm at St. Joseph’s Chapel Mausoleum located at 240 Lower Landing Road in Chews Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to SOAR! (Support Our Aging Religious) found at https://soar-usa.org/donate/ share the memories … share love … ShareLife® at www.mcgfuneral.com
