Mary "Vicki" Aragon
April 28th, 1936 - February 1st, 2024
In Loving Memory of Vicki Aragon Mary “Vicki” Aragon passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 87. Vicki was born in Chacon, New Mexico on April 28, 1936. She was one of 12 children of Lauriano and Tiofilita Martinez. Vicki married Julio “Julian” Aragon on January 27, 1957. They were united in life until his passing in 2003. They shared four daughters: Fran (Mark), Janet (John), Pam (Dale), and Julie (Steve). She was lovingly surrounded by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Vicki was a lifelong “caretaker” of many. She attended nursing school until tasked to take care of her younger sibling with Down syndrome. Thereafter, she took care of several of her younger siblings. Vicki worked at Nativity of Our Lord as a school aide to elementary children. She volunteered at Hospice of St. John, Stephen Ministry, Social Justice, Just Faith and was a tutor for migrant workers. Vicki’s joy was crafting, all kinds! Her specialty was sewing colorful blankets for all the new babies in the family, including friends of her grandchildren, per their request! Vicki shared with her family that she received many blessings throughout her life: children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was blessed to know the greatest and loving priests throughout her service in her ministry and church. Her faith sustained her to the very end and was very grateful for her lifelong blessings. Vicki is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Linda and numerous family and friends. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband, Julian, her son-in-law Dale, and great-grandchild, John Paul, III. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Denver Hospice, 8289 E. Lowry Boulevard, Denver, CO 80230. Rosary and Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10:00/10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Interment to follow after mass to Fort Logan, Staging Area A. The procession will start here (please stay in your vehicle) and the staff will lead the procession to the committal shelter. A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held on a future date.
