Mary V. Badamo

Mary Vallone Badamo (100) of St Petersburg, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13th, 2024, at the Goldton Assisted Living Facility. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she married her husband Gaspar, a World War II veteran and moved to Central Islip, NY, where they had two children. After Gaspar’s passing in 1976, she moved to St Petersburg, Florida where she started a new life in the Florida sunshine. She worked at the bakery and the Woolworths at the Seminole Mall until she retired. Mary was involved with both her church, Holy Cross Catholic Church as well as the Five Towns community where she lived until she moved to Goldton. She volunteered her time to both her church and community. Although her children, Mary Lou and Ronald as well as her mother and father, Carmella and Giuseppe, her sisters, Maria, Sadie, Angelina and Frances and her brother, Peter preceded her in death, Mary is survived by the numerous nephews and nieces as well as grand-nephews and grand-nieces who loved her and will miss her. She will be reunited with Gasper when she is interned with him at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. As a devoted Catholic, Mary would want any memorial contributions in her name to be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7851 54th Ave N, St Petersburg, Fl 33709. Holy Cross Catholic Church (holycrossrcc.com) A memorial mass will be held for her there on Saturday, January 4th at 4pm.
