Mary Regina Bolger, 91, of Ione, CA, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on July 6, 1924, to Hugh James and Catherine Elizabeth (Ceaser) Williams. Mary married her husband, John in 1949 and began their family in Pennsylvania. Mary and John moved to Southern California for a short time in 1953 then moving to Ione in 1957 where they made their home for 56 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione playing the organ for several years. She was a part of the Ione homecoming committee, the Sacred Heart Auxiliary; she was active in the Civic activities and boy scouts. Mary loved her family, music, dancing and her cup of coffee. Mary worked as an accountant for 40 years in various locations such as Bank of America, Ione Hardware Store and Allstate packers for the last 20 years before retiring in 2004. Mary is survived by her children, John Jr. (Tisha) Bolger, Catherine (Rich) Walke, Mark (Cyndi) Bolger, Patrick (Sally) Bolger; sister, Catherine Reynolds; grandchildren, Kelly Ann, John, Russell, Mark, Matthew, Mary, Nicholas, Ashley, Patrick Jr., Amanda and Sofia; great grandchildren of five. She is preceded in death by husband, John; brothers, Arthur, Robert, James, Owen; sister, Marguerite; longtime companion John Evasivick. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at Daneri Mortuary Chapel Friday, May 6, 2016, 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. followed by a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ione, CA, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Contributions may be sent to Community Hospice of Stanislaus 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA. 95356, Samaritan Village and Assisted Living 7700 Fox Rd. Hughson, CA. 95326, or the Ione Picnic Association P.O. Box 398, Ione, CA 95640.
