Mary V. Castle Church Hill – Mary V. Castle, 86, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening August 24, 2018 with her family and friends by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She retired from the Hawkins County School System with over 40 years of service. She worked at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill for 10 years. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred “Cowboy” Castle; sons-in-law, Mike Foster, Hershel Fields, Donald Lee Webb; parents, Carl and Kansas Crawford; brother, Shack Crawford, sisters, Cora Arnold, Ruby Barret, Dessie George, Phoebe Davis. She is survived by her children, Fred Castle, Jr. (Barbara), Ann R. Webb, Robert Castle, B.D. Castle, Susie Cline (Walter), Katie Matlock (Jerry), Sandra Smith (Jeff), Joy Foster, Jimmy Castle (Stacie); eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Crawford (Elsie); sisters-in-law, Janie Crawford, Charlene Castle; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday August 27, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill or anytime at the residence of any of her children. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Teddy Webb and Brother David Morelock officiating. Music will be provided by Heavenly Reflections. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at McPheeters Bend Community Cemetery with David Simpson, Shade Webb, David Bell, Cody Williams, Austin Castle, Jeff Smith, Mikey Foster, Jason Webb and James Arnold serving as pallbearers. Family and friends who wish to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12 p.m. to go into procession.
