Mary Chatham, 47, is celebrating her new heavenly body and is worshiping her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She went home to heaven on May 30, 2013. Mary was born December 11, 1965, in Reno, Nevada to Dolores and Richard Hayes and was the 5th of 6 children. She was a happy child and asked Jesus into her heart when she was just 10 years old. She truly loved Jesus all her life. Mary graduated from Central Valley High School in Redding, California. A few years later she married Larry Chatham. What Mary wanted most was to be a wife and mother. She loved and was very proud of her three children. Her greatest desire is for them is to love and serve the Lord. Mary fought a strong and faith filled battle for more than 20 years against Machado-Joseph’s Disease (MJD). It may have won the fight for her body, but it never stole her faith, positive spirit, sharp mind and sense of humor. She has now been set free and we know she is running, dancing and celebrating on the streets of gold. Mary is survived by her daughter Jamie (Nampa), sons Christopher (Boise) and Cory (Boise), her father and stepmother Richard & Louise Hayes (Sonora, California), and siblings Becky Hayes-Kendall, John Hayes, David Hayes, Ruthie Warren, and several nieces and nephews (all of California) Mary was preceded in death by her mother Dolores, and oldest brother Steven, both of whom lost their battles with MJD. Mary’s family would like to thank Cathy Pate for the loving care she gave Mary the last months of her life, to Cynthia Grinder and all those at Encompass Home Health & Hospice who gave her medical care and support the last weeks of her life. Thank you to Wish Granters, Dr. Nancy Kois, MD of Boise and Dr. Arnulf Koeppen, MD of Albany, New York for making it possible to fulfill Mary’s wish of tissue donation for research of Machado Joseph’s Disease after her death. The family will hold a memorial on July 12th, 6:30pm, in the Billiard Room at the Masonic Event Center, 320 11th Ave S, Nampa, Idaho. Mary will be interned at Mount Shadow Cemetery in Sonoma, California with her mother. Instead of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Mary’s memory to the Albany Research Institute, Inc., 113 Holland Ave, Albany, N.Y. 12208 (Attention: Ms. Susan Benjamin, Executive Director) for the continued research of MJD.

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
