Mary Ann (Beaver) Cooper, beloved wife, mother, and nana passed away June 1, 2024, at her home in Yuba City, CA. She was 86.Mary Ann, known as "Tot" to her family, was born on December 17, 1937, to Alva and Grace Beaver in Hulbert, OK.In 1942, her parents moved the family from Oklahoma to Sunnyvale, CA, where her dad worked on Pictsweet Ranch. For those who worked there, a house was provided.Tot loved the ranch and spent endless hours playing with her older sister Thelma, cousins and many other children that lived there. It was during one of those times while playing in the rafters of the hay barn that she met her future husband and love of her life Charles (Chuck) Cooper. She was 10 years old, he 11. Charles was visiting with a friend and noticed her up in the rafters and hollered "I see London I see France, I see someone's underpants!" She was unfazed being the tomboy that she was.Although they both had crushes on each other through the years they didn't "go steady" until their Junior year at Mountain View High School. Tot was an "A" student and was editor of the school newspaper and Class of 1955 Co-Valedictorian. Charles and Tot weremarried on July 7, 1956, in San Jose, CA.Their daughter Lori was born in 1957, sons, David born in 1959, and Lee born in 1962, gave her plenty to do.Charles and Tot made the move to Woodland, CA, from the Bay Area in 1963. They wanted to raise their children in a small town. Daughter, Lindsey was born in 1967, and the family was complete. She worked for Gibson School for many years until she and Charles purchased Yuba Readymix in Yuba City, CA in 1977, and moved to Yuba City in 1978.As a Pink Lady at Fremont Hospital, she volunteered for many years and served in several different officer roles. She owned and operated Feather River Office Materials (FROM) in Yuba City but was most proud of her work as a realtor in the area. And was a very successful realtor at that, not retiring until her late 70s. Not one to sit on her hands after retirement, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of earning her AA which she also accomplished in her late 70s.She and Charles loved throwing parties and having family gatherings. Family meant everything to her.She was very involved in her kids' activities such as Girl Scout troop leader, Boy Scout den mother, room mother for the kids' classrooms, and served as different officers in PTA. Being a very sports minded family you could find her at the baseball/softball diamond, football field, swim meets, bowling alley....she loved watching her children compete. Her hobbies included playing recreational volleyball and bowling in her younger years and water aerobics as she grew older. Anyone challenging her at Rummy found out post haste she's a pro at that card game!Tot and Charles loved traveling; making many trips cross country in the motor home. And oh, the adventurous stories they'd come back with! Especially the trips that included the grandkids.Through the years the love between Tot and Charles endured and only grew stronger and sweeter. It was the greatest of love stories. She is survived by her husband, Charles Cooper; her daughter, Lori Iaconis; sons, Dave Cooper and Lee (Stephanie) Cooper; and daughter, Lindsey (Josh) Walker. She leaves behind 12 grandkids, one of whom predeceased her; 25 great-grandkids and 2 great-great-grandkids along with a large extended family. She is predeceased by her parents, Alva and Grace Beaver; her granddaughter, Brienne Heir; and her daughter-in-law, Vicky Cooper. We will miss her loving heart, her smile and her laughter. Until we meet again."Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories" - Ronald ReaganA Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
