Mary D DeFillips
October 21st, 1967 - July 13th, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Dark DeFillips, beloved wife and mother, who peacefully departed this life on July 13, 2024, at the age of 56, from cancer. Born into a military family at Patrick Air Force Base, Mary spent her formative years in Cocoa, Florida.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, James, and their cherished children, Nicholas, Vincent, Peter, and Gabriel. Her greatest joy was being with her family, and she took immense pride in her role as a loving mother and wife. Before having children, Mary and James enjoyed traveling through Europe, creating memories that would last a lifetime. They embarked on numerous family trips across the north and southeast as their family grew, forging even stronger bonds through shared adventures.
Mary's gentle and calm presence was the cornerstone of her family, providing unwavering support and love. She was the ballast that kept them steady through life's ups and downs. A dedicated member of her church, she instilled the values of faith and togetherness in her family. Mary found solace in simple pleasures, such as relaxing with a cat on her lap and listening to the vibrant sounds of her active family.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Beach Funeral Home, 1689 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, with the Rosary at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass Service will take place on Saturday, July 20th, at 9 AM at the Holy Family Traditional Catholic Church, 3385 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, followed by burial at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US-1 in Rockledge.
In memory of Mary, donations may be sent to St. Francis Reflections Hospice or Genesis House of Melbourne.
