Elliott, Mary M., 86, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at home under the care of Hospice and family. Born in Meriden, CT she came here in 1974 from Middletown, CT. She retired from the State of CT after 34 years of service and was the Secretary to the President of the Greater Hartford Community College. Locally, she was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was an active bowler up until 2002, and bowled in leagues at Sunshine Lanes in Pinellas Park, Sunrise Lanes in St. Petersburg, and Crown Lanes in Tampa. When she could no longer bowl, she continued to go to observe, and was nicknamed ?The Coach?. She is survived by a son James P. Elliott of East Lyme, CT; a daughter, Diane M. Elliott of St. Petersburg; a brother, Charles T. McInerney of Middletown, CT; a sister, Margaret M. Gaffney of St. Petersburg and two grandchildren, Jesse and Lauren Elliott.
