Mary Jeanne Gilbert
September 15th, 1939 - April 18th, 2024
Long-time Lakeland resident Mary J. Gilbert, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, April 18, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL. Mary was born Sept 15, 1939 in Plant City, FL. After graduating from Lakeland Sr High School she married Harold E Gilbert, also from Lakeland at the time. Mary continued to live in their Lakeland home for a number of years after Harold passed away in Sept 2015. In early 2022, Mary relocated to St. Petersburg to be closer to family who could help care for her. Mary is survived by her two sons Eddie and David, brother Alan Harrell, sisters Ruth Miller and Patty Harrington, and grand-daughters Sarah and Sophia. Mary will be missed by all of them, their spouses and families, and many other family relatives, neighbors and friends. The family will be scheduling a gathering in Lakeland within the coming weeks for family and friends to honor and celebrate Mary’s life.
