Mary Elizabeth "Liz” Hollinrake July 21, 1922-July 1, 2008 Age: 85 Residence: Hemingford, NE Tribute: Mary Elizabeth "Liz” Hollinrake was born in Hemingford, NE to Gladstone and Mary (Kriz) Iodence and raised on the family farm. Liz attended and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, NE. She then attended College of Saint Teresa in Winona, Minnesota. After returning home she worked at the Alliance Air Base. She married Harlen Hollinrake on November 28, 1950 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Hemingford, NE. They made their home on the family farm and ranch where they lived and worked all their lives. Liz was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the St. Bridget’s Alter Society and Happy Homemaker’s Club; for which she was proud of her involvement in her community. Liz enjoyed cooking and baking, and found simple pleasures by hosting and entertaining friends and family. She was a crafty and talented lady who made special gift boxes for family and friends and community nursing homes. Mrs. Hollinrake died Tuesday July 1, 2008 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. Survivors: Brother Charles Iodence of Hemingford, NE, Her children, Carol Hollinrake and Judy Hollinrake of Greeley, CO and Michelle and Pete Kohler of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren Mandy Kosmicki Oliva and fiancé Patrick Longstreth, Sonia Kosmicki-Baxley and husband Ryan, Anthony Olivia, Nicole Lowery and husband Ben, Audrey Patin (all of Greeley, CO). Chris and Monica Patin of Ogallala, NE, Paige and Laura Kohler of Hendersonville, NC.; great-grandchildren Cpl. Mark Oliva, Annie, Jordan and Lexi Oliva of Camp Lejeune, NC, Ashley, Tristan and Jayda Oliva, Elizabeth Kosmicki, Faith and Will Baxley, Cora and Claire Lowery all of Greeley, CO Preceded in death by: husband Harlen Hollinrake, parents Gladstone and Mary Iodence and brother Bill Iodence. Recitation of the Rosary: 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Bates/ Gould Chapel in Alliance, Nebraska Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Hemingford, NE Interment: Hemingford Cemetery, Hemingford, NE Note: Memorial contributions may be made to Hemingford American Legion Post 9 and/ or the Hemingford American Legion Auxiliary and/or the Hemingford Fire/Rescue Department, or charity of the donor’s choice.
