Mary Joan Huber
December 12th, 1929 - September 8th, 2021
We were all created to be with God and on September 8th Mary Joan Huber, age 91, passed away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born December 12, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to John and Elizabeth Casey. She married her college sweetheart and her longtime friend and love, Robert Anthony Huber, in August of who preceded her in death in 2009. Mary Joan graduated from Mount St Joseph College and Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived until retiring and then moving to Denver, Colorado. She had the opportunity to travel the world and touched many people’s lives through her career in the nursing profession. Later in her career, she began teaching nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital and then teaching nursing obstetrics and geriatrics at the University of Cincinnati. She also served on Mount St Joseph’s Board. Mary Joan had a “nurses’ heart”… a deep compassion for the sick, hurting, and especially… new born children. Mary Joan also enjoyed cooking and had quite a collection of cookbooks. Mary Joan is survived by her brother Tom Casey; her three children and their relatives, Michele Huber, Mary Lynn and Mike Schwander, Casey Huber and Haiyang Yang; her grandchildren Mike Huber and Ashley Huber, Matt and Lindsay Huber, Michael and Anna Schwander, Mackenzie Huber, Kelsey Schwander, and Madison Huber; six great grandchildren Greta Huber, Henry Huber, Owen Huber, Mackenzie Schwander, Marie Huber, and Madelynn Schwander. All these she loved and touched deeply. A private ceremony will be held in Denver, Colorado with a public graveside service in Marion, Ohio that is to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huber Machinery Museum in Marion, Ohio at Huber Machinery Museum, P.O. Box 6010, Marion, OH 43301-6010.
