Mary Diakos Ingram
November 16th, 1928 - December 25th, 2014
Daughter born on November 16th, 1928 to Michael Diakos ( Michalis Diakomihalis) who came to the U.S. IN 1913, at the age of 20 from Symi, Greece, and Beatrice Booth Diakos ,from Birmingham, England in 1913, at the age of 8. Her siblings included Fred, Nick, Gladys, and Margie. They grew up on Pass-a-grill beach, where their father operated a seafood shop, and fished the gulf. She graduated from St Petersburg High school, and then married John Kervin Ingram. Her children include Sherron Elizabeth Mc Comas, Ann Lorraine Bain,and John Kervin Ingram Jr. She made her mark and many friends at the Sand Dollar restaurant in St. Pete, where she worked for nearly 25 years. After leaving the Sand Dollar at age 52, she went back to school, was hired by Warren Hunnicut appraisal firm, and became office manager, where she retired after 10 years. In her eighty-six years of life, she was loved, admired, and respected by everyone who knew her. Her Grandchildren include Ryan Harrison Shaw, deceased, Wesley Lorraine McDaniel, heather Blue Vintinner, Devin Leigh McComas, Chase Sheppard Ingram. Her great grandchildren include Alex McDaniel, Taylor Anne Rowe, William Tyler Shaw, Aeris McDaniel, and Lilyanna McComas. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, and as her son John says, a man's woman. She loved to fish, cook,watch sports and everyone knows, gamble. She loved her family, here and in Greece, and everyone loved her. The family will be hosting a celebration of life memorial at the house of her daughter Sunday Feb. 1st, between the hours of noon and five o'clock. Anyone who knew her is welcome to come and show your love and respect. The address is 1935-11th Street North, St. Petersburg.
