Mary Jane Gens

MARY JANE GENS (“Mitzi”), 83, died Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Castle Rock Assisted Living in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born October 13, 1936 in Buffalo, New York to Joseph and Mary Weiner. Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Cheryl Ann (Gens) Katta and her husband Ed, daughter Linda Gens Mott, and son Robert Michael Gens and his wife Bella. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Ryan Katta, Jennifer Katta, Jordan Katta, Lindsey Katta, Jonathon Katta, Stephen Mott, Joseph Mott, Jeremy Jordan, Angelina Williams and Robert Gens. She also has two great grandchildren, Ayden Katta and Aria Katta. Mary Jane received her registered Nursing degree in Jamestown, New York and enjoyed a nursing career for 30 years. Some of her favorite things were family gatherings, traveling, cooking and her morning coffee. While she lived in Colorado since 1981, she visited her home in Buffalo, New York every summer where she attended family reunions, watched the sunsets on Lake Erie and took trips to Niagara Falls. Family was her primary focus, and we will greatly miss her presence, sense of humor, wisdom, guidance and love. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 11 Center Street, Forestville, NY 14062.
