Mary E. Kessler

Mary Elizabeth Metzger Kessler, 91, formally of Caldwell, passed away in peace at Ashley care center in Pocatello on Tuesday, September the 18th 2012. Mary was born July 28, 1921 to Clara Pearl and Cyrus E. Metzger in Springer, New Mexico. Mary was raised in Miami and later Estancia in New Mexico and graduated from Estancia High School in 1937. The family moved to the Nampa area in 1938 and settled on a farm south of Star, Idaho. On March 19, 1942 Mary was married to Warren Harvey Kessler. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters: Curtis, Mark, Shirley and Linda. Mary was devoted to God and her family. She served in many capacities in both the Boise Valley Church of the Brethren and Nampa Church of the Brethren. For many years she worked as the head of housekeeping at Mercy Medical Center and owned and operated Kessler Nursing Home in Caldwell, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents Pearl and Cyrus Metzger and Siblings: Elmer, Lester, Harold, and twins Dorothy Shaw and David Metzger as well as daughters Shirley and Linda. Surviving are a Sister, Evelyn (Stan) Agenbroad, Sons Curtis (Nanette) and Mark (Linda) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Mary’s Memorial Service will be held at The Church of the Brethren, 11030 Orchard Ave, Nampa, ID on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2:00 PM.
