Mary C. Klemek
March 3rd, 1920 - July 11th, 2013
Mary C. Klemek, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 3, 1920 she was the last surviving child of Caterina and Aniello Guglielmelli Williams. Her late siblings were: Angela Perriman, Marion "Mamie" Clark, Rose Ketcham, Tommy Williams, Joe Williams and Anthony Williams. She graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY in 1938 and from Newark Memorial Hospital Nursing School in 1944. Throughout her professional life and until she retired in 1985, she worked as a Registered Nurse. In the 1950's, she relocated to the Chicago, IL area where she lived until 1986, at which time she moved to Denver, Colorado and lived for 24 years prior to returning to the Chicago suburbs in 2010. Survivors include a son, Dr. Neil J. Klemek, MD of Berea, KY and two daughters, Natalie M. Klemek of Pomona, CA and Mary/"Mindy" Gary Karp of Long Grove, IL. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Kevin Friedrich, Ryan Gibson, Ross Gibson and one great-grandson, Connor Friedrich. A private burial service was conducted on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Michael Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. Arrangements were provided by Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam, NY and Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Heights, IL.
