Mary Evalyn Middleton, 87, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2012, in Alamogordo, NM. She was born on August 12, 1925 to Ell and Winnie Moore in Dallas Texas. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, TX in 1943. She moved with her Mother to San Francisco, CA in 1943 where she worked as a clerk typist at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. In 1946, she married Coy Luther Middleton. They moved to Chico in 1947 and they were married 60 years until he preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brother Maxie Moore, her two brothers-in-law, Hubert and Jim Middleton, and one niece. She moved to Alamogordo in 2009 to be near family. A Memorial Service will be held in Chico on Friday, August 24 at Glen Oaks Memorial Park Mausoleum for family and friends. Mary Evalyn was a member of the Chico Church of Christ since 1956 and the Cuba Avenue Church of Christ since 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Jim) Albright of NC, and Joyce Reynolds of NM; grandchildren: Eric (Allison) Albright, Melissa (Matt) Davis, Becky Harp, Marybeth Reynolds, and Thomas Reynolds; great-grandchildren: Jeorden Reynolds, Jared, Gianna, and Jessica Albright, Anna and Tessa Davis, Grayer Harp; sisters-in-law: Margaret Ruth of TX and Vi or Oroville and nieces and nephews. Mary Evalyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a kind friend and neighbor, and beloved by all who knew her. Mary Evalyn enjoyed writing letters and needlework. She was a woman of prayer. In lieu of flowers, family has suggested that contributions may be made in memory of Mary Evalyn to New Mexico Christian Children's Home or Wycliffe Bible Translators in care of Brusie Funeral Home, 626 Broadway, Chico CA 95928. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home , 342-5642.
