Mary Elizabeth Miracle
July 31st, 1957 - January 9th, 2023
Mary Elizabeth Miracle, 65, passed away, January 9, 2023 at St. Lukes Boise. At Mary’s request no services will be held. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Mary was born on July 31, 1957 to Ted and Eleanor (Kimminau) Kokes in Twin Falls, Idaho. Mary grew up in Buhl, Idaho learning to fish, play yard baseball and love dogs. As the youngest of 5 children, at an early age Mary developed her wit and quick comebacks, practicing these skills on her older siblings. Summers included family fishing trips to catch trout, two-week road trips to Nebraska to visit relatives, Sunday afternoon drives in the country, and trips to the local swimming pool. After graduating from Buhl High School, Mary briefly attended Idaho State University and Lewis and Clark College. She moved to Mountain Home, Idaho in 1978 and married Jay Miracle on Nov. 14, 1980. Over the years Mary worked for various businesses in Mountain Home. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer for many community activities over the years including AFAD (Air Force Appreciation Day), Silver Wings of Idaho, Mountain Home Streetwalkers and the Mountain Home Ladies Golf Association. Mary greatly enjoyed playing golf and spent many a day on the Mountain Home golf course and playing in local tournaments, with her husband Jay, and her lady’s golf groups. Mary loved her dog “children”. Over the years she always had one, two or three dogs. She especially cared for those that needed to be rescued. Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years. Jay, her siblings, Susan (Dan) Schram, Nancy (Dan) Mapes, Charles (Gina) Kokes and John (Kathy) Kokes. She is also survived by her sister –in-laws, Jackie (Jeff) Harper, and JoAnn Miracle (Russ Perkins). She is also survived by 7 Nephews and 5 Nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Eleanor. Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to the Mountain Home Animal Shelter, PO Box 10, Mtn Home, ID 83647.

Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
