Mary Ellen Muchanic, 72, of Pinellas Park, Florida passed away February 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and friends Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey August 07, 1942, the daughter of Erwin Locher, Barbara Castaldi (Locher) and step-father John Castaldi. MaryEllen was a strong, loving and generous woman and was loved by everyone she met. She moved to Pinellas Park, Florida in 1987 where it became her home with her children and until she went to be with the lord. She was preceded in death by her father Erwin Locher, mother Barbara Castaldi (Locher), step-father John Castaldi, sister Barbara DeNoia, sister Janice Hausler, sister Sandra Locher and her late ex-husband Peter Muchanic Jr. Surviving siblings are her brother, Joe Connelly of NJ, sister, Patricia Keesling of NC, and sister, Joyce Locher of NJ. She was a very loving and devoted mother to her children Peter Muchanic, III of Pinellas Park, Deborah Niles of Valrico and Barbara Muchanic of Seminole. Along with her step-children Nancy Biondi of SC, Bonnie Hoehne of PA, Linda Bartell of NJ and James Muchanic of NJ. She was a very proud, loving grandmother to Nicholas Barnes, Richard Pitt, Jennifer Niles, Willow Canfield and Indigo Canfield. She also is survived by her ten (10) step-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and an abundance of wonderful friends. Memorial Service, Friday February 27, 2015 at 3:00 PM at David C. Gross Funeral Homes, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida. The family reguests donations to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America ( www.ccfa.org ) in her honor for her granddaughter Indigo Sky Canfield David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family.. Service Information
