Mary Louise Gilpatrick Starrett
July 9th, 1942 - January 30th, 2024
It is with great sorrow to announce Mary Louise Gilpatrick Starrett, 81, passed away on January 30, 2024, in Melbourne, Florida with her family lovingly by her side. She was born in Henderson, Kentucky and raised in Fort Branch, Indiana to Charles and Ruthanna Gilpatrick. She married Earl D. Starrett and eventually they traveled to Florida to raise their family and carry on a whole legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by five children and their spouses/significant others: Antoinette (Toni) Anderson (Radish), Marilyn Land, Earl Starrett, Brad Starrett (Holly), Martha (Marti) Behrmann (Don), thirteen grandchildren, Kayla Land, Christopher Lawrence, Brendan Lawson, Daine Lawson, Destiny Starrett, Delaney Starrett, Blake Starrett, Sadie Starrett, Reese Starrett, Lexi Behrmann, Daniel Behrmann, Brooke Behrmann, Courtney Behrmann, two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tripp Lawrence, Parker Lawrence, and siblings, Joseph Gilpatrick (Lisa), Beth Ann Mayfield (Charlie), Janet Prough, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Starrett, parents, Charles and Ruthanna Gilpatrick, daughter, Nicole Starrett Lawrence Lawson, son, Jonathan Gilpatrick, sister Sharon Gilpatrick, and brother, Fredrick Gilpatrick. Holidays were the most special to her. It was her comfort to have her family around her whenever possible for gatherings. She also enjoyed collecting figurines of elephants and clowns. She was also a noted champion of word games. She enjoyed going to Big Daddy’s for karaoke. And she would happily take you up on a hand of blackjack. Mary’s life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. She will be remembered for her love and support she offered to all who needed it. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1053 Pine Tree Dr, Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937, at 11:00am, with reception to follow.
