Mary Terrill
July 29th, 1930 - January 12th, 2017
Mary Elizabeth Inglis Terrill, born July 7, 1930 in Waltham, MA, entered into rest January 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband William P Terrill Sr, parents James Inglis and Janet MacDonald Inglis, daughter Janet Terrill, grandson Logan Taylor Haycraft. She is survived by son William P Terrill Jr and his wife Patricia, daughter Jane Heather Haycraft, grandson Joshua Terrill Haycraft and his wife Marcia. Mary grew up in Waltham, MA and graduated from Boston University, following which she worked as a secretary at Harvard University. She moved to West Palm Beach, FL working at the new Pratt & Whitney Aircraft facility. Mary met Bill Terrill in June 1958, a newly discharged carrier pilot from the US Navy. Bill was working at Grand Bahamas Island for Pan American Guided Missiles Range Division. They were married in April 1959 and lived in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, another down-range base, for a year. Bill was transferred to Cape Canaveral and they lived in Satellite Beach, FL for thirty-five years, where they brought up their three children: Janet, Jane, and William, Jr. In 1972, she went to work at Satellite Beach City Hall, starting out as part time Librarian for the city. After 22 years in Municipal government she retired in 1994 as its City Clerk. Following retirement, Bill and Mary moved to their new home in Flat Rock, NC. Two months later, Mary was back in municipal government, working with the group for the incorporation of Flat Rock, following which she served as its first Village Clerk as a volunteer. Following that retirement, she served for 12 years as the Clerk of the Vestry at St John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church. Services 2:00 PM February 10, 2017 at St John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church Flat Rock, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, Flat Rock, North Carolina.
