Mary Page Yznaga
November 27th, 1954 - October 7th, 2020
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Page Yznaga, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Mary was born to John Alexis and Georgia Yznaga (Hopkins) on November 27th in Van Nuys, California. She left us on October 7th, 2020 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with her family by her side. The much-loved mother of Kathleen Miller and Georgia Meza (Miller) and cherished grandmother of Sergio Meza, Alberto Meza and Abraham Meza. Dear sister of John Yznaga (Marsha), Consuelo "Connie" Yznaga Davis (Bill), Joseph Yznaga (Kate), Robert Yznaga (Margie) and William "Billy" Yznaga (Jenny). Mary was the type of person whose love and compassion was infectious. Her brilliant smile would brighten any space. When life presented her with challenges, she always tackled them with positivity. Even when she was battling health issues, she was always able to lend an ear, offer a shoulder to cry on and always remind us to stay positive. Before retiring in 2017, she worked at Northern Pueblo Housing Authority as their Financial Officer. NPHA became her second home and her extended family. She use to tell us that she wanted to make sure everyone had a roof over their heads. Along with her coworkers, she worked to obtain grants that helped repair and build new homes for the Pueblos of Picuris, San Ildefonso, Tesuque and Pojoaque. She also worked with the Jicarilla, San Felipe, Laguna and Mescalero housing authorities. After retiring from NPHA, Mary was able to pursue another one of her passions, baking her famous cookies. Ask any family member, friend, neighbor or Pojoaque Fireman and they will tell you how magical they were. Though Mary was born and raised in California, she always told us that when she first visited Santa Fe, it was love at first sight. She knew that New Mexico is where she wanted to raise her family and live out the rest of her life. She was the sun that filled our hearts with light and love. Two things that we will continue to carry with us and share with others, continuing her legacy. Services are currently Pending. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Diabetes Association https://www.diabetes.org/ or the National Kidney Foundation https://www.kidney.org/ in her name. Arrangements entrusted to the caring professionals of: Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe 3232 Cerrillos Road (505) 395-9150
