Maryellen Ann Reidy

November 13th, 1935 - April 4th, 2024

Maryellen Ann Reidy, 88, of Tucson, peacefully passed away on April 4, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, IL, to Leo and Helen Sherlock (deceased), loving sister to Lee Sherlock, sister-in-law Mary (both deceased), and survived by Basil J. (Ingrid Moller) Sherlock. Maryellen married the love of her life, Timothy Reidy, on May 12, 1956, and moved moved to Tucson in 1963. She was a women of faith and began her services to God at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a Youth Minister for 24 years. She then served as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister and loved bringing the Eucharist to the homebound as a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church. She also oversaw the Adoration Chapel and was instrumental in starting Divine Mercy Devotion. Maryellen is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Timothy Reidy, her children Judy (Armando) Lopez, Patrick (Cathy) Reidy, grandchildren Ryan (Amy) Lopez, Aly (Gabe) Nevarez, Nick Reidy (Samantha Thomas), Christian (Chau) Reidy, Miranda Garcia, Angela Garcia, Allen (Heather) Garcia and 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Maryellen demonstrated to her family true unconditional love and she touched the lives of many throughout her life. We want to thank the staff at Amber Lights and Gentiva Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. In leiu of flower please make donations to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Youth Group. Basil Sherlock

🕯️ We, Basil and Ingrid, brother and sister-in-law of Maryellen want to express our sadness and our condolences to Tim, Maryellen’s husband, Judy and Family, Maryellen’s daughter and Patrick and Cathy, Maryellen’s son and Family. Maryellen and Tim created a beautiful family, now with children and children’s children. Such a rich legacy of love, inclusivity, belonging and stewardship which is seldom to be found in today’s world. We are honored to be included in this all incompassing love.
