June 23rd, 1959 - April 26th, 2021
Mrs. MaryLou A. Hoag, age 61, of Gloversville, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. She was born June 23, 1959 in Gloversville, the daughter of Harriet Johnson Heimer and the late John L. Heimer, Jr. MaryLou was employed as head cashier, by 4 capital region Price Chopper supermarkets for 13 years. She was an avid crafter, who enjoyed making holiday decorations for family and friends. MaryLou enjoyed antiquing, Drum and Bugle Corps competitions, watching birds at the feeder, as well as the company of her two Springer Spaniels Tasker and Bennett. MaryLou was an active member of the GHS Class of 77 reunion committee. The GHS Class of 77, sponsored several fund-raising events to support annual scholarship opportunities. MaryLou is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jeffrey J. Hoag; two sons, Jason Jeffrey Hoag and Christopher Ian Hoag; her mother, Harriet Heimer; a brother, John L. Heimer III (Connie); a sister, SuAnn Murray; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. For the safety of family and friends, private visitation will take place at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St; Gloversville, NY 12078.
