Mathew Reid Bondy

Matt quietly slipped away from this world at Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, CO from end stage liver failure. He leaves behind his mother Verna Covey and step father Dean, sister Colleen Perez, step sisters Shelley Carlson (Mike), Angie Morten (Kelly), KayLa Kirubakaran (Azariah), step brother Chad Covey (Jennifer), nephews Cole and Alex Perez and niece Isabella Lube. His father Albert E Bondy passed away in 1997. Matt loved all animals especially his current kitty "Slick”. He valued experiences over material possessions especially if there was some risk involved. As a 4 year old he was riding bikes and building jumps which led to BMX racing as an adolescent. As a young adult he moved on to Motocross dirt bike racing and spent countless hours at the VDR track which for many years was located at the SW corner of I-25 and Hwy 56. He raced at several venues along the front range and was very proud of his many trophies. His most recent thrill was a sky diving adventure, a gift from his sister. He graduated from Berthoud High School in 1997 after which he attended several schools and had many jobs. Matt was loved, liked, and cared for by family, friends, and unknown angels. He will be missed, especially at Christmas by his niece and nephews. They knew he wouldn't be giving them a gift card or money for Christmas. It would be a generous gift that he picked out and wasn't practical but fun. The greatest gift he taught us was how to love him unconditionally. Memorials may be made to Pathways Hospice who were so kind and helpful in his final hours or Homeward Alliance a non profit that sponsors the Murphy Center in Fort Collins providing resources to the homeless. Or simply show compassion to someone suffering from mental illness, addiction, or homelessness. Reception Gathering Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Viegut Reception Center.
