Matthew Thomas Ford

December 1st, 1954 - November 19th, 2023

Matthew Ford died peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the Denver Hospice. He was 68. Matthew (Matt) Ford was born into a military family in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Accordingly, he moved frequently, and lived all over the world until settling in his later years in Denver, Colorado. Following in his father’s footsteps, Matt briefly served in the United States Army. He was an avid reader, coin collector and an armchair lover of sports. Matt was known for his generosity, love of God and the Catholic church. He regularly sent thoughtful prayer cards and mementos to his widespread family and friends on their birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates. A regular note writer, Matt would often mail clipped articles and pictures whenever the item reminded him of the recipient. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, COL. (Retired) Francis Ford, and Rita Ford, as well as siblings Lorraine Zimmermann, Francis Ford, Jr., and Michael Ford. He is survived by 5 siblings and a sizable extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that love him deeply. Family services will be held at a later time. For those wishing to celebrate his life, please consider a donation to the Denver Hospice at TheDenverHospice.org.
