"Palmer - Matthew Joseph Harris, 24, died tragically in Palmer on April 14, 2018. Born June 22, 1993 in Ware, he was the son of Michael Harris of Palmer and Lynda (Buck) Lindberg of W. Brookfield. Matthew grew up in Palmer and was a 2012 graduate of Palmer High. He played football for the Palmer Cowboys and in high school for the Palmer Panthers. Matthew entered the Marine Corp right after high school and served until his honorable discharge in 2017 as a Corporal. He was stationed in Quantico, VA. He was assigned to the Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1), and was part of the military police and a K-9 handler. He also enjoyed snowboarding and concerts. He was currently working on his Bachelor's Degree at Worcester State. Besides his parents, he will be deeply missed by his father's wife Jennifer, and mother's husband John, along with his 3 siblings, Brandon Fiske of Clinton, Mikayla Harris of Malden, and Julianne Harris and her fiancé Cameron Pramas of N. Andover. He also leaves his 2 step sisters, Jenna and Sarah Baruffaldi of Palmer and his grandparents, Bruce Buck and his wife Joanne of Jaffrey, NH, and Kendall Harris and his wife Sally of Thornton, NH. Additionally, his girlfriend Stephanie Opal of Hampden, aunt Frances Martel and husband Jeff of Milford, NH and uncle Stephen Buck of Wolfeboro, NH along with many cousins survive him. A Celebration of his Life will be Saturday, April 21 at the Second Congregational Church, 1080 Pleasant St, Palmer followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, Palmer, MA. For those wishing to honor his memory, please make donations to Wounded Warrior Project, PO 758516, Topeka, KS 66675. THE FAMILY WISHES THAT DONATIONS BE MADE IN LIEU OF FLOWERS."
