Matthew Brandon King, age 35, quietly passed away with his wife at his bedside July 27th from a pulmonary embolism. Matt was born March 21, 1981 in Provo, UT the second of five children of Craig King and Diana Petersen King. Matt attended grade school in Kennewick, WA and graduated high school in Moses Lake, WA. He continued his education at BYU-Idaho where he graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Several years later he earned his Professional Engineering license. Matt was employed 10 years by Boeing where he enjoyed the work and his co-workers. He had a love of music which included choir, organ, piano and violin. His first love was his wife of 10 years who he treated like a queen. His second was his children Jacob, Daniel and William. Favorite family activities included walking, canoeing, backyard baseball and movie nights. He also enjoyed woodworking, reading, and being an all-around handy man. He was also an Eagle Scout. He was not defined by his physical limitations and rarely complained. He was known by all as a kind, gentle soul with the patience of Job. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and drew great strength from his love of the Savior. He served as a missionary for the church in Las Vegas, Nevada from 2000-2002. He was preceded in death by brother Benjamin and grandparents Woodrow Alma and Donna Chatman Petersen and Lea Palmer King. He is survived by his wife Jamie Crozier King and his three children Jacob Nathaniel King, Daniel Victor King, and William Gideon King all of Kent, Washington. Also survived by his parents Craig Victor and Diana Petersen King of Perry Utah, and siblings Aaron Bradley King of Mill Creek Utah, Alecia Tilley of Taylorsville Utah, Cherise King of Logan Utah, and Grandfather Gale Noel King of Brigham City Utah. A Memorial service will be held at the same location Wednesday, August 3, 10:00 AM, interment to follow at Hillcrest Burial Park. Heartfelt thanks to our team at SCCA, UWMC and UCSF for the amazing care he received the last few year. So many of you went above and beyond for which we are very grateful.
