Matson – Matthew Paul Otten Matthew was welcomed in heaven Saturday, September 14, 2013, where he was reunited with his Grandmother Gigi and many other loving arms. Matt was born in Miami March 15, 1993 and moved to Rockledge in 1994. He graduated from Edgewood Sr. High School in 2011. Matt attended University of North Florida and recently returned home and was a student at Florida Eastern College. Matt had a great love for the outdoors. He grew up cherishing his trips to the Everglades with family and friends. Matt also loved his time in Holopaw riding in his Samurai. He was his happiest when he was fishing, kayaking, and surfing. Matt also had a talent for playing the guitar. Matthew will be missed more than words can ever say by his loving parents, David and Terry Matson, his brother and best buddy, Parker, his grandfather Paul Otten, grandmother Gloria Matson-Zapf (John) and his very special Aunt Kathy, along with other aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at Rockledge Presbyterian Church, 921 Rockledge, Dr. A celebration of life will take place at the church on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary and a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome donations to the Rockledge Presbyterian School or Promise in Brevard for a future music room in Matt’s memory.
