Matt was born at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on July 16, 1982, and passed away at the age of 42, of natural causes, on September 13, 2024, at home in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his mother, Roberta McCandless, his father, Steven McCandless, his brother, Corey McCandless, and his girlfriend/significant other, Shawn Perez.

There will be a Celebration of Life on October 20, 2024, from 1 - 5 p.m. at the Westminster Elks Lodge located at 3850 Elk Dr. in Westminster, Colorado. We want this to be a celebration of his bright and happy personality, not of mourning. Please wear happy and bright colors and/or WWE attire since those who knew Matt knows that the WWE was a lifetime love of his.
