Matthew Lee Puckett Matthew, 26, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was born in Charlotte on November 2, 1987 son of Stephanie Blackman Puckett and Freddie Puckett. Matthew was a professional piercer, an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He was also a diehard Dale Jr. and Gamecock fan. Matthew loved children and made friends very easily. He never met a stranger. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Blackman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Erica Puckett; grandmothers, Ann Blackman and Pauline Watkins; his aunt, Tracy Blackman Frye and her husband, Bart; his uncle, Matt Blackman; cousins, Jason Blackman, Kendall Frye and Stephanie Vance; great aunt, Bobby Holland; cousins, Beverly Stancil, Chrisie Horonzy, Ricky Stancil and Joe Stancil; his best friend and "brother" Alan Hudson; his young nephews and cousins who he loved and doted on; and many other loving cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. A memorial service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thompson's Child and Family Focus, Attn: Pam Corey, 6800 Saint Peter's Lane Matthews, NC 28105.
