June 4th, 1969 - February 16th, 2016
Matthew Peter Welch, 46, of Holmes Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Matt taught at Moody Elementary School for 18 years. He was an avid fisherman and surfer. Matt will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father as well as a loyal friend and colleague. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Helen Welch. Survived by wife, Mona Calhoon Welch; son, Rory Welch; daughter, Sage Welch; brothers, Frederick Karl Welch, Jr., William Welch; sisters, Pamela Benham, Robyn Bensinger, Jill Welch; nephew, Frederick Karl Welch, III; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 6608 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
