Maureen Jane Carbary
January 20th, 1952 - August 12th, 2020
Maureen was extraordinary. She was the mother of 11 kids, a talented nurse and an active volunteer at church. She was passionate, brilliant and fierce. She was born to Jean and Richard Dooley in Edmonds Washington. She grew up with her siblings Kathy, Mike and Colleen. She married Stan Hunsaker and they had her son Brian, followed by Angela and Ben. In 1982, she married Tom Carbary. Tom had one son from his first marriage, and then together Tom and Maureen had 7 more children. For the next 34 years, they raised their 11children together in a rambunctious, eclectic house in Lynnwood. In 2002, Maureen and Tom moved to Tenino, Washington to live a relaxing life on a lake. Their 5 youngest children graduated from high school in Tenino. Maureen was a talented nurse and cared for patients for 32 years. She graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She worked full time at Steven’s Hospital until she retired in 2010. Maureen was a gourmet cook who taught all of her kids that all events should center around the kitchen. She loved to sew, sing and spend time with her grandkids. She raised 11 independent, free-spirited, talented kids. We will miss her strong, independent, and hardworking spirit Maureen will join her husband Tom, her mother, father and two sisters in heaven. She is survived by her brother Michael Dooley, nephews Ryan Dooley and Erik Carver and her 11 children (Tom Jr. Brian, Angela, Ben, Sarah, Cindy, Katy, Tim, Megan, Kelsey and Molly), 17 grandchildren and 3 (soon to be 4) great grandchildren.
