Maureen Tobin

Maureen Corroon Tobin, 90 passed peacefully on August 4, 2020. Born September 7, 1929 in Mullingar, Ireland. At the age of 18 she moved to New York to live with her Aunt and worked at the well known Schrafft’s restaurant. After the passing of her husband George Tobin of New York she moved to Florida where she settled in Cocoa Beach.Maureen was a beloved sister to Kathleen Masterson of Ireland. She will be fondly remembered by her sister, nieces & nephews in Ireland, who have so many happy memories of visiting their Aunt both in New York & Florida. Maureen’s trips home to Ireland were met with great excitement & anticipation as many dinner parties were arranged. Maureen loved to cook, even when on holiday. She would happily cook all day in preparation for her family & her many Irish cousins & friends. Then over good food and drinks, stories would be told over and over. Maureen was truly happiest when surrounded by her family & friends. .This can be echoed by her America family and friends too. She will be truly missed by David, Jane and Casey Vester and all her friends and neighbors. Great appreciation goes out to her caregivers at Solaris Healthcare Merritt Island and her friends at Publix. Maureen was a kind, generous, loving and giving person who always thought of others first. Maureen was a great supporter and advocate of Animal Welfare. Her generous and caring spirit shone bright in her love for cats especially. Over her lifetime she offered a safe, warm welcoming home to many little kittens who she lovingly referred to as her “Handsome Boys” Maureen had great faith and was a regular church goer at Our Saviour’s where she will be laid to rest in the Memorial Garden on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 10:30am She will be sadly missed by all those who knew this lovely little lady and forever in our hearts.
