Maurice "Moishe Ben Nissim" Benzekri

Maurice Benzekri, age 89, of Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Maurice was born April 15, 1930 in Morocco to the late Nissim and the late Esther (Ezra) Benzekri. He moved to Israel when he was 16 and served in the Israeli Navy. He had a career as a sailor with the Zim Cargo Company, prior to moving to the United States, approximately 30 years ago. Maurice was very organized and a great handyman. He loved to collect things and started a new collection every few years. He also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed singing. Maurice is survivied by his wife Galila Benzekri; children Mira (Alon) Rosenthal, Michal Tobul, and Yoram (Lacey Mello) Benzikri; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is predeceased by one brother and one sister. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV. .
