Maurice ""Maury"" Griffin December 28, 1927 - April 17, 2013 Resident of Walnut Creek Formerly of the Penninsula, Concord & Brentwood Maury passed suddenly at Montego Heights in Walnut Creek. A former resident of Burlingame and born in San Francisco; graduate of Lowell HS he then attended USF & USC, where he played basketball. He served in the US Army prior to working for the Boys Scouts of America supply division for over 50 years before retiring. Maury is preceded in death by Bunny, his loving wife of 46 years. He was the loving father of Cyndi Griffin (Tim) & Donna Denton (Gary); dear son of the late Morris & Gladys Griffin. Also survived by grandchildren, Jason, Nikki, Joshua, Christina & Courtney and eight great grandchildren. Maury attended many Scout Jamborees over the years, was a member of Lowell Alumni Assoc., Boys Scouts of America, I.O.F., Masons, Shiners, Elks & Native Sons. He spent much of his time following local sports teams and mostly enjoyed basketball of all levels. He was an avid jigsaw, seek and find puzzle enthusiast. He was a member of the Shrines Drum & Bugle Corps and worked at the Elk's Lodge as secretary for several years after his retirement. Visitation, Monday, April 22nd from 11 am to 12 noon at OAK PARK HILLS CHAPEL, 3111 N. Main Street, Walnut Creek, CA. Followed by entombment, 1:30 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road, Colma, CA Please leave a condolence message for the family.
